really love that even if nothing happens within the span of the game, you can so clearly see the beginnings of a horrifically codependent workplace situationship between kim and harry. the most repressed man in the world who got used to dealing with microaggressions and being the outsider nobody respects meets a guy with nothing left to lose who wears his heart on his sleeve and fucking ADORES him because he's the only person in the world who has any faith in him whatsoever. like yeah ok one week in and kim's defending harry's karaoke skills and running all across the island helping him hunt cryptids even though he doesn't even believe in them. and harry's already thinking of him as this perfect person with no flaws, a saint, halo and all just like he did with dora. oh they're so doomed

this is really embarrassing to admit but. when jean first showed up at the whirling in rags i'd only spoken to him once on the radio and didn't look that hard at his in game portrait so when he turned up. despite the fact that he still calls himself jean and is only wearing a really shitty blond party city wig and sunglasses as a disguise. i didn't fucking realize they were the same person. i just thought that was another cop from the precinct telling me how badly i was fucking up. im serious about this. i for realsies rolled an irl 1 in perception

also i've been thinking a lot recently about how each character portrait encompasses an important interaction you have with them. so it's been really bugging me that i couldn't seem to place kim's portrait bc it's so simple but striking. i like that it happens so late in the game after you've really established a connection with him and figured out that harry has a tendency to deify his romantic partners. the ceiling light halo looks really good on him

i was really REALLY nervous to ask kim to dance with me at the club because i heard that if you fail it you call him a slur. literally the most high risk high reward red check in the entire game i can't believe i got it first try. i was sweating bullets clicking on it

im watching a video of the cuno endign rn (kim gets incapacitated during the shootout so you have to go to the island with cuno instead) and literally the first thing he does after you wake up is lie adn say that kim's dead. he just got shot can u give him a second first

kind of obsessed with the characterization of jayce and viktor as fundamentally good people who will also go absolutely batshit insane if you separate them because theyre also ridiculously codependent to a degree that is concerning for everybody else's wellbeing. they were literally away from each other for a couple of months and almost ended the entire world
